In our ongoing effort to create sustainable solutions to poverty, the Reaching Out Widows (ROW) Farm has been a beacon of hope and empowerment. Today, we bring you a brief update on the progress we’ve made and the challenges we’re currently facing.

The farm, a critical part of our mission at Living The Dream, received funding of 1000.00gh. This financial support has been vital for various farming activities including land preparation, seed purchase, and labour.

Update

This time around, We’ve had the opportunity to prepare 2 acres of land for planting, rather than the initially planned one acre. This was made possible by negotiating with the operator who kindly agreed to work on the two acres for only a slightly higher fee than the cost of preparing one acre.

Details Of Expenses

  1. Ploughing and harrowing of 2 acres of land – 650.00gh
  2. Purchasing of Maize seeds ( 1 big bag) 300.00gh
  3. Purchasing of Weedicides 2 bottles – 200.00gh
  4. Labour for Sowing seeds 250.00gh
  5. Labour for spraying Weedicides 250.00
  6. Hiring of Spraying machine 100.00gh

The total expenses amounted to 1750.00gh. This leads us to an outstanding debt of 750.00gh, which we are working hard to manage.

As the maize begins to germinate, we’re advised that a second spray will be needed in a month’s time. This is an essential step to ensure the healthy growth of our crops.

We’re humbly grateful for the support received so far and look forward to making strides with the ROW Farm project. We strive to not only nourish bodies with our produce but also nourish hope among the widows involved in this initiative. The journey continues, and we invite you to be a part of it.
