About Reach Out Foundation
The Reaching Out Foundation is a ministry that was started in May 2021 after Lydia Koranteng was ordained into the ministry in November 2020. Together with her husband, Abraham Koranteng, they prayed for direction in ministry and were led to Exodus 22:22-23 and James 1:27. The foundation is focused on supporting and empowering widows in the West Dangbe district in Ghana.
Empowerment
Our partner in Ghana, Prophet Jonathan Kugblenu, initially conducted a needs analysis project of 65 widows, enumerating their current circumstances and immediate needs. We then spoke to friends, family, and church members and were blessed with donations of clothing, shoes, bedding, and toys, which we shipped to Ghana.
On May 1st, 2021, at Victory Community Baptist church in Dodowa in Ghana, the ministry was launched with about 100 in attendance including 65 widows. All the widows were presented with gifts, and 20 of whom received monetary assistance to support them in enhancing/expanding their already existing small-scale businesses to help sustain their families. The ministry is open to all widows irrespective of religious background and we are pleased to say at least 30 of the 65 are Muslims and have been keen participants in all subsequent Zoom meetings.
